Current Dam Levels

The Lake Arthur dam was originally constructed in 1926 to serve irrigators downstream of the Tarka River and other farms located on the Great Fish River banks.

Lake Arthur, together with the Kommando Drift Dam severed more that 3000ha of irrigation area. With the completion of the Orange-Fish transfer scheme, the Lake Arthur Dam become obsolete, now only providing irrigation water to approximately 300ha of irrigatable land.
